AIT處長孫曉雅昨天首度與衛福部部長陳時中會面，共同討論美台的公衛合作。孫處長感謝陳部長的大力支持，同時肯定陳部長為對抗新冠疫情努力不懈，包括以透明開放和基於科學的方式來防疫。孫處長也強調持續與台灣在公衛議題上攜手合作的重要，並表示期待透過「全球合作暨訓練架構」(GCTF) 與台灣一起應對共同挑戰，並支持台灣在世界衛生組織和其他國際組織的有意義參與。
Yesterday, AIT Director Oudkirk met with Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-Chung for the first time to discuss U.S.-Taiwan health cooperation. Director Oudkirk thanked Minister Chen for his strong support and praised Taiwan’s commitment to combatting the COVID-19 pandemic, including through using a transparent and science-based approach. She also stressed the importance of continued collaboration with Taiwan on health issues, working together on shared challenges through the Global Cooperation and Training Framework, and supporting Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the WHO and other international organizations.
